TAMPA, FL, Jan 27, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Walter Energy (NYSE: WLT), a leading U.S. producer and exporter of
premium metallurgical coal for the global steel industry, announced
today that it has named Keith M. Shull as the Company's Sr. Vice
President - Human Resources.
Shull joins Walter Energy from Arrow Electronics, where he was Senior
Vice President, Human Resources from 2005 to 2008. Prior to that
appointment, he served as Senior Vice President, Human Resources for
BHP Billiton's Base Metals and Petroleum business groups from 1996 to
2004.
"Keith brings with him a wealth of global human resources experience,
particularly in the mining and heavy industrial sector across a
number of continents," said Victor P. Patrick, chief executive
officer of Walter Energy. "We welcome him to our senior team and look
forward to his contributions as we grow our metallurgical coal
enterprise."
He will be responsible for leadership of the company's benefits,
compensation, employment, industrial relations, payroll, aviation,
organizational development and administrative services departments.
He will report to the chief executive officer and will be based at
the Company's new corporate headquarters in the Birmingham area.
He holds a Master's degree in management from the Drucker School of
Management at Claremont College and a Bachelor's degree in business
from California State University - Fullerton.
